Rich Coast Diving is 100% AWARE and we donate $10 of every certification to project AWARE.  After 3 successful  marine science programs  with C.M.E.R.A we decided to add some extra programs for the summer break.

Our dates are

June 30 – July 27

July 28 – August 24

Marine science packages

We take the training very seriously, obviously with a serious amount of fun thrown in. Our training has been deemed as the most comprehensive in Costa Rica by those that know our methods.

We feel the internship provides a far better learning experience and it is the preferred option to teach. We love to train people who take an interest in the ocean, but place the emphasis on great dive training and the fact that there is much more to being a Marine specialist than possessing the certification card.  Our dedicated Marine Science Internship program here at Rich Coast Diving is 1 month and you can join any one of the 3 programs   All 3 programs include PADI shark, turtle and manta Specialty.

There will be Marine lectures, fish ID fun time, Beach clean up and more

Prerequisites:

  • Have an interest in Marine Science
  • Be at least 18 years old at the start of training.
  • Submit medical clearance for diving signed by a physician, attesting to fitness to dive.
  • Dive experience or interest

You do not need to be a diver to start.

We want our candidates to stand apart from others and get as much as possible for their money and time. For this reason our Marine Science internship includes a day on the boat with Mision Tiburon (a local shark and manta organization) to watch tagging underwater and collect data. There will be a day at the local international school to help the kids on a Marine project. Plus we will have an excursion day to watch turtles hatch or lay eggs if there is a possibility.
