My Ocean Challenge

Last week we organized a big event called JAWESOME. It was a great success and thanks to many donations for our raffle tickets, big sale of T-shirts plus food and drinks at Zi lounge we raised a total of $1800 to donate to Project Aware to help them to safe our sharks.JawesomeZi lounge did a great job in decorations and trying to get people to spend as much money as possible as they were donating $1 for every shot sold plus 20% of the profit.  We hosted our last Shark event at Zi lounge as well and once again it was a big success.  We would like to thank Zi for his support.

Another big thank you goes out to Yerbabuena, Jose and Oscar played great Latino music to entertain our guest as well as great tunes to have our local ocean artist Carlos Hiller dance and paint to create a Jawesome Bull shark.  Thank you for the support Carlos and taking part in the entertainment.Carlos Hiller

Felippe and Roy also offered to contribute to the night by giving a short lecture on why we n need to safe our sharks and that sharks are Awesome creatures, nothing to be scared of.  Roy showed us some of his great underwater photography work.  thanks guys, we appreciate your input.

Shark Finning is a big problem and if it continues at this rate there will be no sharks to see for our kids.  Sharks are also the ones that keeper ocean in balance by being on the top of the predators line.

Project Aware fightyerbabuenas hard to get the message to the public as well as trying to get the sharks on the Cites list (CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) is an international agreement between governments. Its aim is to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival.)

We would like to thanks our local businesses for donating: Italian Ice cream shop 0039, restaurant The Lookout, Hotel M&M, Hacienda Guachipilin, Sports bar Coconutz, beach bar Tiki Coco, Zi lounge, tours by Marlin del Rey, North Pacifico Fishing and Seabird sailing, restaurant the Gastro Pub, Pizzeria La Caveja, Hotel Conchal, Tusa, Almaco, Sea Hag store and Dry case for donating products. PADI, Lisa Bradshaw and  Botanical Tropical for donating beauty products, Java Cafe  and Remax for helping out with the T-shirts.
